QuadERP vs QuickBooks
QuickBooks Does the Books. It Does Not Run the Shop.
If you sell across a counter, accounting software is only half of what you need. Here is the honest difference, and where QuickBooks is still the better answer.
This comes up often enough to be worth a straight answer. QuickBooks is accounting software and it is good at being accounting software. The question is whether accounting software is what a shop with a counter, shelves and staff actually needs to buy first.
They solve different halves of the same business
An accounting package starts from transactions that have already happened. A retail system starts at the counter, where the transaction is created, and works outward into stock, staff and the money. If you only have the first, somebody has to feed it, and that somebody is usually you, in the evening.
| What you need | QuadERP | An accounting package |
|---|---|---|
| Ring up a sale at the counter | Yes, that is the starting point | Not what it is for |
| Stock levels that move when you sell | Yes | Not what it is for |
| Which staff member sold what | Yes | Not what it is for |
| Several branches in one view | Yes, on Multi-Branch | Varies by product and tier |
| Invoices and who owes you | Yes | Yes |
| Full double entry and a balance sheet | No | Yes |
| Statutory filing | No | Yes, that is the point of it |
The QuadERP column is checked against what ships today. The right-hand column is deliberately generic, because accounting products differ by tier and we are not going to quote someone else's feature list back at you from memory. Checked 22 August 2026.
Where we would tell you to buy QuickBooks instead
If the accounting is the job, buy the accounting package. If you need a trial balance, a balance sheet, full double entry or statutory filing, QuadERP does not do those and is not pretending to. That is written out on the accounting page in more detail than most vendors would put on their own site.
What we do that an accounts package does not
The shop floor. Selling on a phone or a laptop with no terminal to buy, Mobile Money as a first-class payment method, stock that moves as you sell, reorder alerts, transfers between branches, and a record of which staff member did what. Prices in cedis, and we set it up and train your staff rather than emailing you a login.
The detail is on the POS page and the inventory page.
Using both
This is the common ending. Run the shop on QuadERP, export whenever your accountant asks, and let them work in the tool they already know. The export is a button you press yourself, not a request you send us.
See it against your own stock
Thirty days, no card. We set it up and train whoever stands behind the counter, and you pay nothing until you decide to stay.
